ASC Mission Statement:
The mission of Atlantic Street Center, an agency related
to the General Board of Global Ministries of the United
Methodist Church, is to help families and communities
raise healthy, self-sufficient children and youth. We seek
to achieve our mission through the provision of holistic
counseling, case management, and educational support.
We primarily serve African American and other minority
children, youth and families who are low income and
living in the Seattle/King County area.
Commitments: Watch for and participate in special outreach events as they are planned.

Cocoon
House

Type: Homeless teen shelter. Anyone can volunteer.
Our Mission Committee volunteers one evening a month. We cook and serve a meal on the 4th Friday evening each month.
If you are interested in assisting us with this meal, contact Ardyce Johnson to obtain a
volunteer application. All volunteers must be 21 or older and will need a food handler’s certificate and a current TB
skin test.
Mission Statement:
Serving homeless adolescents in Snohomish County, Cocoon House meets our community
responsibility through providing them with:
1) Shelter from the elements and abuse;
2) Growth in education and life skills;
3) Reconnection to their families or other nurturing groups;
4) An opportunity to reach their potential.

Type: Fight Hunger. Open to anyone
Focus: People from all over
gather to walk through the
streets to put an end to hunger in the
world. 25% of the money raised will go to the
Interfaith Association of Snohomish County to
support hunger issues for homeless families.
The rest of the money will help provide relief
and development assistance in more than 80
countries including the US. CROPWALKERS
help provide safe, clean water overseas and
stocks local food banks and meal sites in the
US.
Other ways you can support this outreach is to
sign someone's pledge form. For
more information talk to Pastor Cathy.
Commitments: Participate in the walk and/or sign a pledge card.

Everett Gospel Mission

Time: 3 - 4 times a year on Sunday

Type: Youth Group outreach
Focus: The Senior High youth help prepare and serve meals at the Everett Gospel Mission (Women's and Children's shelter). They also take time to eat and talk with the people there. They do other fundraisers for them such as collecting blankets, money for playing cards and hygiene kits, and they have thrown them a Christmas party.
Commitments: To show up when agreed upon.

Bank

Type: Anyone
Focus: The church has a food collection container in the lobby.
Each month, the church collects a new food item to fill the current
need at the Marysville Food Bank.
Commitments: Contact Jim if you want to help collect the food and
deliver to the Food Bank. Drop off your donations at the church
each month.

Interfaith Hospitality Network Shelter

Type: Homeless family shelter
Interfaith Hospitality Network emergency shelter provides safety, security, and meals as well as education, advocacy, and mentorship for homeless families. Each family participates in a program promoting life skills and stability designed to break the cycle of homelessness. They also provide homeless prevention services to families struggling with rent, utility, or mortgage payments.
Commitments: Some of the volunteer opportunities include:
Meal preparation on-site (dinners daily)
Tutoring in various school subjects as needed
Arts & crafts sessions (organize & bring materials for project)
Teach a class for adults based on your skills (resume writing, interviewing, budgeting, computer literacy, parenting, etc.)
Assist with publicity & fundraising to keep the shelter project operating

Kairos Prison Ministry

The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.
Many opportunities are available to help with this ministry; from baking cookies to helping prepare meals to giving a talk.

Pastor's Discretionary Fund

Focus: We distribute gift certificates for food and gas to help those who are experiencing a
financial emergency. This is part of a safety net of love for our local community. Contact
Randee Ply at the church office 360-659-8521 to make a financial contribution or to receive a
gift certificate.
